Yaran-e-Tez-Gam Se Ranjish Kahan | Sad Ghazal 2020 | Sad Poetry 2020

یارانِ تیز گام سے رنجش کہاں ہے اب
Where (when I have)is the resentment
 from the fast-paced friends now
منزل پہ جا پہنچنے کی خواہش کہاں ہے اب
Where (When I have) is the desire
to reach the destination now
زنداں میں دن بھی رات ہی جیسا گزر گیا
The day in prison passed like night
اہلِ جنوں وہ پہلی سی شورش کہاں ہے اب
O! People of the enthusiasm
where is that vigor like before now
جامِ شراب اب تُومرے سامنے نہ رکھ
Don't place the wine in front of me anymore
آنکھوں میں نور ہاتھ میں جنبش کہاں ہے اب
Where is the light in the eyes
 and the movement in the hand now
حلقہِ بگوش کوئی نہ اب یار ہے یہاں
The circle of listeners (literary
people) is no more here now
وہ روزو شب کی داد و ستائش کہاں ہے اب
Where is the praise and applause
 of day and night now
جینے کا حق جو مانگا تو تیور بدل گئے
Temperament changed when I demanded the right to live
وہ میرے محسنوں کی نوازش کہاں ہے اب
Where is the kindness of my benefactors now?
چہرے پہ گرد عمرِ رواں کا ظہور ہے
The dust on the face is the appearance of age
بانہوں کے ہالے بوسوں کی بارش کہاں ہے اب
Where are the cuddles and the
 rain of kisses now
خنجر ہو یا کہ دشنہ ہو یا تیغ یا قلم
Be it a dagger or a blade
or a sword or a pen
اختر وہ آب اور وہ برش کہاں ہے اب
Akhtar, where are that water
 and those season of rains now
