رانجھے آکھیا اٹھیا رزق میرا
میتھوں بھائیو تسیں کیہ منگدے ہو
Ranjhe said to his brothers, what do you demand from
me (don't stop me) when my sustenance is finished here
ونڈ لیا جے باپ دا ملک سارا
تسیں ساک نہ سین نہ آنگ دے ہو
You have inherited (divided) the wealth of father
and you don't have any regard for relations
وس لگ جے تاں منصور وانگوں
مینوں چا سولی اتے ٹنگ دے ہو
If it would be in your hands
you would definately crucify me like Mansor
وچوں خوش ہو آساں دے نکلنے تے
گل اکھدے مونہوں نہ سنگدے ہو
By heart you are happy that I am departing from here
but you are ashamed of bringing this to your lips
بھرجائیاں آکھیا رانجھیا وے
اسیں باندیاں تیریاں ہنیاں ہاں
Sisters in law said to Ranjhe "O Ranjhe
we are your Bondage (servents
ناؤں لینا ہیں جدوں توں جاونے دا
اسیں ہنجھرو رت دے رنیاں ہاں
Our hearts weep tears of blood when you talk of leaving us
جان مال قربان ہے تدھ اتوں
اتے آپ بھی چوکھنے ہنیاں ہاں
We sacrifice ourselves and our belongings on you
سانوں صبر قرار نہ آوندا ہے
جس ویلڑے تیتھوں وچھنیاں ہاں
Peace in our lives will come
to an end if you leave us
حکم من کے سجنا پیاریاں دا
قصہ عجب بہار دا جوڑیا اے
I have written a wonderful story
by following the orders of loved ones
فقرہ جوڑ کے خوب درست کیتا
نواں پھل گلاب دا توڑیا اے
Through the perfect combination of
phrases (metre) I have fountained a flower of rose
بہت جیئو دے وچ تدبیر کر کے
فرہاد پہاڑ نوں پھوڑیا اے
It is just as Farhad contemplated a plan and dismantled the mountain.
سبھا ونھ کے زیب بنا دتا
جہیا عطر گلاب نچوڑیا اے
And throught perfect choice of diction and order
I have created a scent of roses
