اگاں ہو کے توں وی رنگا چنی
Get your neckwear (shawl) colored by going ahead

میرے رانجھے سنگ مائے
With my Ranjha, o sympathizer

جہڑا رانجھے توں پہلاں سی بت خانہ
Which was an idol-house before Ranjha

بیت اللہ لگا او جھنگ مائے
That Jhang (city) looks Mecca now, o sympathizer

ویکھ وانگ شبیر ہیٹھ خنجر
See like Shabir under the head of dagger

سکھ ویلکھنے دا ڈھنگ مائے
The manner of taking relief,o sympathizer

سوگ عیسیٰ دے وانگ صلیب اتے
Mourning like Jesus on the cross, like that

تے رانجھا کوکے انگ انگ مائے
Ranjha screams in every pour of my body

اجے آدم دا نام نشان نئیں سی
The time when there were no signs of Adam

 لائی رانجھے دے نال پریت مائے
From then I attached my heart with Ranjha

سجدہ میں رانجھے نوں کیتا اوس ویلے
I prostrated in front of Ranjha that time

کوئی شے نئیں سی کعبہ مسیت مائے
When there was nothing like a Mosque and Ka'aba

میرے رانجھے دی نئیں مثال ہور کوئی
There is no example of my Ranjha

آاہدی ذات اے لاجواب مائے
His worth is incomparable, o
sympathizer

چودہ طبقاں بنائے اہدے نور وچوں
Seven heavens and earth are
created through his light

اہدے نور وچوں روشن آفتاب مائے
Sun lights through his
light, o sympathizer

الف آپ اللہ سائیں رنگ لایا
Allah Himself enlightened
 love in his heart

رانجھا تخت ہزاریوں جھنگ آیا
And Ranjha came to Jhang
 from  Takht Hazara

کجن سب دے ناموس تے تے ننگ آیا
He came to hide the sins of people

تے بخشش عاسیاں دے واسطے منگن آیا
He came for the forgiveness of
sinners (forgiveness seekers)
