جدوں عشق دے کم نوں ہتھ لائیے
پہلوں رب دا ناں پکاریئے جی

Whenever you throw your hands on the work of Love
start in the name of Allah Almighty 

 پھر نبی رسول پیغمبراں نوں 

دم دم نال درود پہنچائیے جی 

Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) and on other prophets 
With every breathe send blessing on 

 یاراں اساں نوں آن سوال کیتا 

قصہ ہیر دانواں بنائیے جی

My friends requested me to 
write the story of Heer in new (innovative) way

 اس پریم جھوک دا سب قصہ 

ڈھب سوہنے نال سنائیے جی

So, this story of matchless love 
must be narrated in new and beautiful way

جھوٹے فتویوں میں نئیں ڈرن والی 

کسے ہور نوں رعب دیکھال قاضی

I'm not afraid of your false edicts O adjudicator 
show your terror somewhere else

بھلے بعے دی کل پہچان مینوں
 تساں سمجھیا بال دی بال قاضی 

I can decide between wrong and right
I'm not a child, O  adjudicator

آکھاں سچ تے مچدا دوناہنے ہون 

مچ سارا لال و لال قاضی 

This world will be destroyed and so your honor
if truth to be spoken, O Adjudicator

وارث شاہ دی شرع دا خیال رکھیں

 ذرا بول زبان سمبھال قاضی

Adjudicator, be very careful 
before speaking on Love of  Waris Shah

اساں فقہہ اصول نوں صحیح کیتا 

غیر شرع مردود درکار نائیں

I righted (acted) the jurisprudence law
I don't need edicts which take 
me away from the love of Allah

اساں دسناں حکم عبادتا ں دا

پل اصراط توں پار اتار نائیں

I have to spread the words of worship
and have to take people on 
the other side of  Sarat Bridge

فرض سنتاں واجباں نفل وتراں 

نال جائزاں سچ نتار نائیں نائیں

along the prayers (Sunha, Farz, Nawaful
I have to make distinguishness
between wrong and right (true and false

 وارث شاہ نماز دے تارکاں نوں 

تازیانیاں دریاں مار نائیں

Waris Shah does not punish those with whip
who don't offer prayers
